Q: What is waxing?
A: Waxing is a form of hair removal that removes the entire hair from the hair follicle. Warm wax is applied to the skin and adheres to the hair. When removed, the hair is pulled from the root.
Q: What exactly is Vajazzling?
A: Vajazzling involves adorning your top-V in swarovski rhinestones or a glitter design with a special body glue. Our clients love them for special occassions like Valentine's Day, Wedding, Special Occassion or a night out on the town. They usually last for a few days. Please don't apply oil on them, sunscreen, and be careful when showering so it lasts longer.
Q: How long is long enough for my hair to get waxed?
A: Don't shave for at least 4 days to a week or longer. Most clients re-book every three to four weeks. Please let the hair grow to about .25 of an inch so the wax can grab the hair. We will do our best to get all the hair off but if it is too short our wax might not adhere to it and come off. If we miss a spot or a few hairs (It happens sometimes) we always ask that you come back for a quick touch up at no charge.
Q: What kind of wax do you use?
A:There are two types of wax. Strip Wax and Hard Wax. We specialize in hard wax which is very gentle for your skin and a superior waxing experience. Our wax is from France and we mostly use hard wax.
Q: How does waxing work?
A: In strip waxing, a liquid wax is applied evenly on the skin area in the direction of the hair.
Strip wax is then allowed to settle for a moment, after which it should cool down enough to grip tightly to the hair. A special paper or cloth is then pressed over the liquid wax, usually the provider puts pressure on the strip and rubs it up and down quickly as to get the wax stuck to the hair, and in one QUICK motion against the direction of the hair, the paper or cloth is ripped off bringing with it the hair and wax. Then pressure should be applied but is not a requirement. We hardly ever use strip wax and prefer hard wax.
NEVER LET ANYONE USE STRIP WAX FOR YOUR BIKINI OR BRAZILIAN.
It can cause damage, scarring, infections and is very painful. Those areas are more sensitive and need a much softer and gentle approach thus we ALWAYS USE HARD WAX. The only times we use strip wax is for large areas such as back or legs and it is great for arms.
Q: Why should I wax vs. shaving, electrolysis, or laser?
A: If waxing is done consistently, hair grows back slower, finer, and sparser. Shaving cuts the hair off at the skin and the quantity and thickness of the hair stays the same. Shaving can also increase skin sensitivity and create a higher probability for ingrown hairs. Electrolysis and Laser hair removal doesn’t work for everyone and can be unpredictable and cost prohibitive.
Q: How long can I expect my waxing to last?
A: If you have allowed your hair to grow out to the proper length prior to waxing, you can expect to be hair-free for a minimum of 1-2 weeks following your appointment.
Q: Will my hair grow back thicker or darker?
A: No, waxing actually has the opposite effect. Hair that is removed at the roots grows in finer and softer over time.
Q: Should I get waxed the day before a big event?
A: If it is your first time waxing we recommend booking your wax 2 or 3 days before a big event such as your wedding. Do not worry, you will still be silky smooth for your big day! If your a waxing diva and have been waxing for quite some time then you should be fine one day before your big event.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We kindly ask that any changes or cancellations be made 24 hours prior to your appointment. A notice of less than 24 hours impacts our opportunity to serve other clients. Simply give the studio a call when you need to modify, change, or cancel an appointment.
We understand life happens and you may miss an appointment without notice. However, if you miss multiple appointments, we reserve the right to charge a fee of up to 50% of the cost of the scheduled services. We also reserve the right to ask for pre-payment via credit card to book future appointments.
Q: Do guys get full Brazilians?
A: Absolutely, we offer professional wax treatments for men and women. We also sell a product that you can apply yourself 15-20 minutes before the treatment to help numb the area.
Q: Why do you charge more for men? Why are your prices in a range?
A: It takes us longer to do a full male Brazilian then women. Thus, we charge based on time and amount of wax used for the treatment. Our prices range from 75-105 for men.
Q: What do I need to do to get ready for my treatment?
A: Please arrive showered and clean and leave the rest up to us. If you don't have a chance to shower we have cleaning wipes that you can use in the bathroom and our licensed Esthetician's always wear gloves, and clean and prep the area being treated before your wax treatment.
Q: I am not sure I want to wax everything. Can I do a partial?
A: Absolutely, it is totally up to you and we want you to be comfortable and have the best wax experience possible. Many of our first time clients especially men choose to wax the back of the butocks, anus area, and only partially near the front. After a few treatments most of our clients decide that a full brazillian is for them and they love the super clean feeling and NO SHAVING for up to FOUR WEEKS!
Q: What if I get excited or aroused? I am really worried about this and haven't booked a wax treatment yet.
A: Excellent question. We are professional licensed Esthetician's. Board Certified, and Approved by the Department of Health with over 600 hours of training in Advanced Aesthetics. There are times when some of our clients have had this experience and it is normal. As long as you are professional, respect the Esthetician and try to relax we will continue the treatment. Brazilian Waxing is easiest when the skin is taught and tight thus, making it easier to wax. However, we prefer that you take a moment and breathe and try to calm your mind and relax. For any reason our providers feel uncomfortable they will end the treatment and you will be asked to leave. During the wax treatment we often have our clients assist in the wax process by using your own hand to help pull an area and make it as tight as the skin can be for the easiest wax removal.
For example, we often have women reach underneath and pull their glutes back as this makes it much easier for our esthetician to remove the wax and is we have found the most comfortable experience for our clients. Our goal is pain free, and legendary waxing experiences.
Q: Will the price decrease if I do not have very much hair?
A: Our charges are determined per service, by how much product we use and time it takes to wax. This is why our prices are in a range.
Q: How do I pick a good waxing salon?
A: Providers should be a licensed Aesthetician ours have 600 hours of training in advanced aesthetics and specialize in skin care. Your provider should provide on-going education and help answer any questions you may have regarding the waxing process. The wax boutique overall should be a clean and healthy environment. Your provider should go through a client intake form with you, explain the procedure and answer any of your questions.
Q: What's the difference between bikini, modified bikini and Brazilian?
A: Bikini for those that want to be trim and tidy down under especially when you are wearing a bikini or bikini underwear their hair will be removed that extends outside of the panty line or crease of thigh. The modified bikini for those seeking to be groomed like a celebrity (And to drive your partner crazy) is a thin strip of hair which we call a French Kiss will be left down the middle of the bikini area Brazilian Bikini. For those that dare go bare all of the hair is removed including backside (some prefer leaving a small patch in front). Many clients choose to start with a bikini or modified bikini before going full brazilian.
Q: What if I get my period before my appointment?
A: It is always best to avoid scheduling your Brazilian waxes for while you are menstruating. But we do have fresh wipes and tampons on hand, so if you absolutely need a wax now we can accommodate you. If you prefer to reschedule your appointment we ask for 24 hours notice.
Q: How much does it hurt? I am scared. This is my first time.
A: Excellent question! We get this one all the time. We specialize in using European Hard Wax which and use high quality products that are very gentle on your body. Hard wax is applied directly to the skin and it cools down for a few minutes and we remove it. Voila! We guarantee that our process is the least pain free experience around Florida!

Q: Can I be waxed if I am taking Retin A, Renova, or Accutane?
A: These medications increase the rate at which your skin exfoliates so waxing could potentially remove skin as well as hair. Please let your Aesthetician know on your client intake form if you are on any medications. Also be aware that exposure to sun, chemical peels, laser, and micro-dermabrasion can also affect skin integrity.
Q: Any other medications to be aware of?
A: There are many medications that affect skin and skin integrity (glycolic acid, lactic acid, benzyl peroxide, salicylic acid, alpha hydroxyl acid, vitamin A, prescribed exfoliating scrubs, antibiotics, hormonal medications, radiation and/or chemotherapy drugs).
